Hi Racers,

From the start of next Season (August 23rd), we’ll be making a significant change to Live Race RP, making it more predictable so that you no longer get less RP the more you race live.

Background

Currently the amount of RP you get from live races generally diminishes the more times you race during a season.

This is due to an Elo rating system working in the background for live races As you win races, your Elo Score increases and this in turn factors into your RP reward. If you lose, the opposite will happen. This is used as a rudimentary form of rewarding race difficulty (the easier the opponent, the less you earn, and so on).

We had many requests to address this from you through social media, meeting players in person and feedback on other channels, so here we are with the first in a series of changes to improve Live Racing.

So what are the changes?

From next season (starting August 23rd), we will be removing Elo scoring from the RP you get from live races, and instead you will now receive a flat amount for winning based on the PP and EP of your car. This means no matter how much you race, the RP you earn will only adjust as you upgrade and tune your car, and you will no longer find yourself earning less the more you race.

Participation in Live Races is More Rewarding

From next season, we will also be rewarding you for just taking part in live races, meaning you will receive some RP even if you lose the race. This will only be a fraction of the amount you would have received for winning, but it will no longer be winner takes all.

What’s next?

Once this is live, we will be monitoring your feedback and suggestions and keeping a close eye on the raw data. If needed, we will make adjustments to ensure the Crew Championship remains fair and “capping” takes a similar amount of time.

Let us know what you think in the comments, and we’ll see you on the track!
