INTRODUCTION
Since the launch of Legends you’ve all been racing and restoring some of the most Iconic cars from history. Now it’s time to get your hands on another legend: The Ford GT40 MKII.
FORD GT40 MKII
The Ford GT40 MKII was designed, engineered and built purely for racing. British engineering meets American power - it’s the perfect partnership. It was built for one thing: to win at the Le Mans 24 Hour race, a feat it famously achieved in 1966. Winning at Le Mans meant everything to a car manufacturer; “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday” was the motto. 50 years after the GT40 MKII triumphed at Le Mans, Ford returned with the Ford GT to win again at Le Mans in 2016.
Ford GT ‘66 Heritage Edition car which will also be available through rare imports and gold during events.
EVENT FORMAT
Join Izzy as you race to unlock, and restore, the Ford GT40 MKII. Designated “Performance Ford”, these series of events will require you to collect and upgrade a range of Ford manufactured cars.
To be part of the Performance Ford events you’ll first need to complete the Legends Restoration Rush (Legends Chapter 2) found in the Legends area of the map. If you’ve already completed Restoration Rush, great work; you’ll be granted access right away!
Performance Ford
Performance Ford was built to celebrate the heritage of the automobile giant, Ford. From Tier 1 to 5 you’ll collect and race the ultimate Ford collection across a 100 race event. If you’ve got the cars, and the talent, you’ll unlock the right to buy the Ford GT40 MKII in the Legends dealership, along with the Ford Heritage Cup.
To complete the Performance Ford event you’ll need to own the following cars, which are all available for in-game currency in the dealership when the Performance Ford events are active.
1. Ford Mustang Boss 302
2. Ford F-150 SVT Raptor
3. Ford Mustang GT Premium
4. Ford Shelby GT350R
5. Ford GT
But it does not stop there. Once you’ve unlocked and purchased the Ford GT40 MKII the journey continues.
Ford Heritage Cup
A legend and its modern relation racing side by side. Together, race the Ford GT40 MKII and Ford GT to unlock exclusive rewards in this 50 race event. You’ll need to restore the Ford GT40 MKII before you’ll be able to finish off this event.
Ford Restoration Cup
Push your Ford GT to the limit in this 30 Race Milestone event to win up to 10,000 rare Ford GT40 MKII Restoration Parts.
GT40 SHOWDOWN
During the launch of the Performance Ford events we’ll run a limited time leaderboard event called the GT40 Showdown. The event is ONLY available during the launch to challenge the best of you to unlock, upgrade and compete in becoming the #1 fastest racer driving the Ford GT40 MKII.
EVENT ROTATION
Some of you might be thinking that this is too much. Do not fear, this is NOT a once in a lifetime opportunity. We’re introducing a new rotating event mechanic that allows all our players to unlock the Ford GT40 MKII as quickly, or slowly, as you like without losing your event progression. During each two week Crew Championship season the Performance Ford series will rotate twice to allow you to pick up where you left off. If you have any feedback on this, please do let us know as we would love to hear your thoughts.
UNLOCKING THE GT40 MKII
On completing the Performance Ford event the GT40 MKII will unlock inside the Legends garage for you to purchase for Cash and Gold. Before you can pick up this legend you’ll need to ensure you have a space in your Legends garage, but if not you’ll be able to pick it up at any time.
